Today I attended modern India and Economics class. It was good. Economics is pretty bit difficult. There was an announcement that the optional subject is canceled. It wasn’t announced officially yet. But there was a general commotion in the class. I felt happy but there was generally disappointment for many students. Lets wait for the official notice!!!!

It is said for preliminary exam will be of 2 papers

Yesterday was full of adventures

Yesterday the bus was crowded but more than usual it was fully cramped and I had no place to stand. When I reached the Mount stop I was pushed down. My gold chain got pulled and my pendant got lost. Then I got into the bus again and searched for my pendant. One of the guys there searched and returned it back to me. I was not even able to thank him but I am extremely grateful to him.

When returning back home, I would have missed my mobile phone. It fell down. I noticed it lying down on the bus floor and retrived it. I must say that I was “lucky”.

That one is definitely a good question today. And the answer is a big “NO”. With a lot of T.V. shows for kids where they can participate and compete they are certainly missing their “childhood”. They are acting and behaving like adults and this can never do any good. Parents are the sole reason for this. They want to “show”their friends and neighbours that their kids are “talented All rounders“. What is there in “showing off” huh???, when what they actually do is spoiling the innocence of the kid.

Children are joined in various classes like dancing, singing, karathe, Keyboard, skating and swimming classes apart from school and tutions. They don’t even have time to breath. Children are like flowers crushing them gives fragrance but it doesn’t last long. Let them grow and bloom, they will give colour , life and scent for the whole world.

The kids now-a-days seldom go out and play with other kids because of T.V., play stations, computer games and video games. Playing creates a good attitude, sportivity, sense of sharing, team work, co-ordination, respect for others and more importantly “Humane” nature which is rapidly decreasing now-a-days. In this mechanised world, what we need is good conduct, character, behaviour and attitude to differentiate us from the machines.

“All work and no play makes jack a dull boy”

So start treating kids as kids. Give them space, let them enjoy their life and give them their innocence back.

I know what you people might be thinking (“That is really a good joke……..” )but then thats the truth.  Thats why I was unable to write my blog these days……. “very busy” lol :-) .

I have my coaching classes from morning nine to one. I have to start at 8 from my place. I have to take a bus (from Ullagaram to st. Thomas mount) then a train(St. Thomas mount to Nungambakkam) and again a bus(Choolaimedu to Annanagar roundana). In the morning it is like a battle field. There will be scrambling, pushing,  kicks and punches from the fellow passengers (sometimes “………. too”) and I ll have to get myself into the bus.

Without a change, to get a ticket,( is like getting into the cage of a hungry lion) the conductor would get mad. To get a seat is like a boon on a crowded bus. It always seemed so easy when they showed it in movies. Even though I try hard to get early to my coaching class something happens on the way and I end up late by five to ten minutes daily.  I have to put up with the droning lecture for three hours(non-stop). But then I like the class (sometimes makes me yawn. I try hard to stifle it but end up with tears in my eyes).
Again the same story but it is less crowded in the afternoon. I get home around three. I have my lunch and go through the news paper and before I realise what has happened, my tution students will be waiting for me. When I finish the tutions, it would be eight. I have my dinner and open my geography book. I ll be asleep within ten minutes.

ME – now a “teacher”

Me and my cousins jointly have started a tution class- “Dazzle tution class”. I thought it would be easy but thenit was tough. The kids there didn’t know to read even kids who are in sixth and seventh. The worst thing is they didn’t know multiplication tables. I just didn’t want to leave them as such.I have now started to spend the first hour of my class for tables and also trying to teach them prounciation. Thinking of some new ways to get them to study.

My First Interview…….

As I have started to chase my childhood dreams (UPSC), I have abandoned the prospect of searching jobs. But then one fine day I got a call from “Robert Bosch” for interview. I was already  shortlisted in the aptitude round  in an off campus a year back. I was completely surprised by the call.  Not many people get their first interview call from a corporate giant. The interview was in Bangalore. My dad accompanied me to Bangalore. I was reading and preparing for the interview all the way in train. I was never so studious and sincere.

We stayed in my Dad’s office guesthouse. That night we stayed there and next day we took a bus to the company. I went inside the campus whereas he waited for me outside. There were some 30 candidates there. Some were called in and some 15 of us were waiting. My interview was at morning 9. They didn’t call me till 3. So I went to the reception and inquired. Then she called the recruiters and told me to come the next day. I went that day and bought a book from the local market. I sat and prepared for nearly the whole night.

The next day I went to the interview. I was called in for the interview. The interviewer asked me some general HR questions. I answered them but I was extremely nervous. He asked me a single technical question. I was nervous and I wasn’t able to think properly. I told him an answer and he politely asked me to wait in the reception. I was still thinking for the answer. But while climbing down the stairs the answer struck me.

And then I realised the horrible truth. I have lost one of the “best battles” of my life. I was really hurt and I was unable to accept the reality. And so my first interview of my life was a disaster
